The goals achieved
Over the past four years we have taken important, concrete steps towards reaching our goals. To reduce our environmental footprint, we have intervened in three main areas: energy & emissions, water, and waste.

ENERGY & EMISSIONS
Between 2007 and 2010, the total amount of electricity taken from the public mains fell by 3.7%
The amount of electricity generated from renewable sources amounted to 32% of the total electricity purchased
The amount of steam purchased externally fell by 16.8% between 2007 and 2010
The overall supply of natural gas between 2007 and 2010 has been reduced by 10.5%
Total emissions of CO2 (Kg/ton) into the atmosphere have fallen by 31.2% between 2007 and 2010.

WATER
The total amount of water consumed between 2007 – 2010 has fallen by 19.7%
The most important reduction was the one recorded in the amount of well-drawn water, which has fallen by 20.5%
The actions taken to increase the amount of water recycle in production processes resulted in a reduction of 19.2% of waste water between 2007 and 2010.

WASTE
Between 2007 and 2010, the amount of recycled non-hazardous waste (paper, plastic, wood and miscellaneous) increased by 17.4%, thanks to the enhanced waste separation and recycling capability.
The amount of non-recycled non-hazardous waste has fallen by 56.1%
Even the amount of recycled hazardous waste has risen by 26.7%
The production of hazardous sludge resulting from water processing has fallen by 40.7%.
